XVI-ii: The Artist vs. King Kong – Part ii

Hey guys!

So I didn’t really explain why I’ve been so MIA this past month. I’m currently in the “busy season” of my job and it’s been so demanding that I’ve had no free time to write when there’s nothing to do at work like I used to before. I’ve also been in the middle of submitting applications for Graduate school and that has a whole list of requirements on it’s own which has been sucking the free time out of me as well. After both of those things, I literally have no desire to do anything but become a vegetable at home, but I know it’s been LONG overdue, which is why I’m here typing as quickly as I can.

Now after my last post about the Bearded Artist and our whereabouts in our relationship so far, I now have to update you on what’s been going on with King Kong. So here we go:

Now after our first date and the many sleepovers, I did indeed spend Christmas and Christmas Eve with King Kong. He came to my church’s Christmas Ever service surprisingly. He said he had wanted to hear me sing, but funny enough he actually missed seeing me sing lol. It was nerve-wrecking because he actually got to meet my mom, and I hate introducing any guy to my mom unless I know it’s serious (but I didn’t consider he and I serious at that point). Well after my church service, he wanted to bring me to his friend’s church because they were having a Christmas feast I guess, but it was traditional Mexican food. Because it was food, I of course said yes, and when we got there, everyone in that congregation spoke Spanish, but they welcomed us with open arms. I got to know a lot of King Kong’s friend’s friends (sorry if that was confusing lol) and the food was SO delicious. It was so cute, his friend’s kids were fighting who was going to sit next to me when we ate lol. Anyways we had mole and posole, both traditional latino foods, and it was so delicious. They kept feeding us those, horchata, and traditional latino desserts as well like concha and this Salvadoran quesadilla. I’ll never forget their hospitality and kindness. King Kong and I had such a nice time and it was something I’ll never forget doing on Christmas Eve.

I had wanted to see this street of Christmas lights that were on display, so we went looking for them but I didn’t realize they shut off past a certain time and it was already pushing midnight. So instead we went back to his place and I gave him his Christmas gift, this brown leather wallet I had found at Macys earlier in the day. I had remembered him saying he needed a new wallet since his was falling apart and I knew he didn’t have any family around so I wanted to give him at least one present to open for Christmas. We ended up falling asleep together (and other things of course haha) within the first few hours of Christmas.

We had woken up and I had told him that I needed to be back home in the morning to celebrate Christmas with my family, though they had opened some presents the night before without me. When I had gotten home, we continued opening all of our presents and I must’ve been a good girl this year because I got a lot of things that I wanted or needed or just loved lol.

But let me press on with more details about King Kong…

A few days later I went back to work and he was leaving to go to Arizona (that’s where he’s from and where his family is at right now) and I hadn’t seen him since Christmas because he was spending time with his daughter up until he was leaving. The day he was leaving though, I had returned back to work and wanted to see what I could dig up about him in one of the databases my job provided (I know you’re not supposed to, but it’s not like I show it to anyone else…). I had wanted to know if he was keeping anything from me for the most part, and because his daughter was registered with one of my jobs databases (as I had found out a few weeks before) I went to look.

Now, I didn’t find much about him, but I saw that his baby mama had filled out an application which required her to write her birthday and King Kong’s birthday. I saw his full name and confirmed that with my knowledge, but what didn’t match up was his birthday. The day and month were correct, but the year didn’t match up with the age he told me he was the first time we had met… After I had done the calculations, I realized that King Kong wasn’t 29, but that he was actually 37, and immediately freaked out. It wasn’t the fact that he’s 13 years older than me (which you could’ve realized if you had read my previous posts/male-tales), but the fact that he lied to me. I had given him no reason to lie to me or not trust me, but now, it made me think what else could he be hiding from me now?

I immediately confronted him about it and texted him, and he admitted to his age and thought it wasn’t a big deal because he thought I was joking, but I felt defeated. Here I was thinking everything was alright with this guy, but in actuality I don’t really even know him enough to know what’s a lie and what isn’t. But on top of that, there really wasn’t anything I could do at that point in time because he was on a plane to get to Arizona and I wouldn’t see him for another week.

A few days later it’s New Year’s Eve and I was having a pretty good day, having lunch with my cousins and I had just won tickets to this big New Year’s Eve Party and was planning on going, but my plans had changed when my cousin asked me to go out with her and her husband (whom I can’t STAND because he’s a prick) to listen to our friend’s band perform at this bar/club place. Everything was going well until my cousin’s husband starting swearing at me because he had interpreted something I said as something threatening towards he and my cousin’s marriage. I ended up in tears…. Anyways, they had somehow convinced my drunk self to come back with them, which is when King Kong texted me (probably because I texted him wishing he was there with me instead of spending my time with my cousin and her douche of a husband) and told me that he missed his daughter so much and wanted to spend New Years with her that he came back days earlier. I was shocked that he didn’t tell me earlier and was surprised he didn’t want to spend it with me but I let it be by that time at night already.

I don’t think I saw him for a few more days after that, but he was worried about how I had gotten home on New Years. So, I jokingly texted him and said that some guy had taken me home and I slept there. He immediately got defensive and pissed off, asking why I was at some guys house. I retorted saying that he was the very one saying that I should be free to date different people so I wondered why was he so concerned where or who I went home with? Even after I told him it was a joke that I was joking with him he really didn’t want to talk to me, but I found it hypocritical that he even cared. After that mishap though, we cleared it up and continued to see each other.

I stayed over multiple times, both of us not getting any sleep, and me having to drive back to go to work at like 4 in the morning so I wouldn’t catch traffic. We’ve also gone to the movies, gone to get food together, that kind of stuff. We’ve even had some AMAZING sex… Like a few days ago actually. He got off of work early and I had met him at his place and he kept texting me how horny he was a few days prior. I get there and after he’s done eating his lunch, he basically rips everything off of me and just jumps on me, wasting no time. We went about three times in an hour I think lol. But even after the great sex, he gives me the same bullshit all men give me: “I’m not ready for a relationship yet.”

My best friend did make a good point though, “He’s 37, not 17, so when is he gonna be ready? He doesn’t have his whole life to figure that out,” and indeed, I agree with her. I think it’s something I’ll have to bring up to him soon. But as far as he and I go, it seems he is only emotionally available for a FWB or FTF thing (which I’m not complaining about… For now. But I would love something more with this one, even more than the Artist. But, I’m not a chaser, and I won’t waste my time trying to convince someone to be with me, and NO woman should have to do that.

So between this post and the last post I guess you could say 2016 is still keeping me in limbo when it comes to men. But it’s nothing I haven’t been through before and I guess I also don’t really have time for guys as well. Besides work and applying for school, I’ve also gotten another part time job (on Sundays only) singing, so it’s been really rewarding because I’m getting paid to do something that I consider fun anyways.

Oh! Another quick update: I’ve been kind of talking to another guy… I don’t have a name for him yet, but he brought me lunch last week Friday and we have plans for other dates in the future too. He owns his own plumbing company and even though he doesn’t look it, he’s really smart with how he handles his business and money, always looking ahead in the future. He also tries to invest his money in ways that will benefit him, like real estate. Only downside is he smokes and he’s and ex-convict….. I’m not gonna discuss the details, but I can tell he’s not gonna go back down that dark road so I’m okay with it, who am I to judge other people’s pasts anyways (have you read mines? Lol). But we’ll see….

Anyways, I gotta get back to my responsibilities, but I hope this served as a good catch-up between you and I.

XVI-i. Artist vs. King Kong – Part i

Hey guys!

I’m finally back on here after a pretty dry spell of not posting. I hope everyone’s Christmas and New Years activities were eventful because mine sure were lol. A LOT has happened the past month and I apologize profusely for not updating more like I should. But first let me update you from where we left off in the last post:

After not seeing each other for another week, the Bearded Artist finally picked me up a few days before Christmas to go and see our City Lights. I was waiting to go with him for some time now, so it was nice to finally go, though he gave me a little trouble because I had not eaten dinner at that point in time yet, so we had to see the lights and then go and eat as well. We were pressed for time I guess, but everything turned out great and we even got a few pictures together. We had run into a co worker of his not even walking ten steps into the lights and they wanted a family picture, so in exchange they took a picture of us.

After we had seen the lights, he took me to a restaurant to eat dinner since I was starving and after that, he took me to the park we would always meet at and exchanged presents with each other. I had actually left one of his other presents at home because I had debated if I had even wanted to give it to him after the BS he was putting me through, but after I had opened my presents, I knew I had to go back and give it to him.

He had hidden two of the presents he had gotten me, trying to make me think he had only gotten me one, but I really wasn’t complaining with the first gift I opened. He had wrapped the gift with tissue paper, then with a layer of wrapping paper, with another layer of tissue paper on top of it and had placed it in a small gift bag, with tissue paper surrounding the package! Lol. I was laughing but I had just wanted to know what was in the wrapping! After all of that was opened, what was left was a jewelry box with these beautiful dark pearl earrings. He said his aunt had made them and I was so ecstatic. I had given him his first gift at that point, which was previously wrapped by the company I had bought it from and when he opened it, he loved it. It was a shirt from his favorite Rugby team.

The Artist then reached behind his seat and pulled out another gift bag with two gifts in them. On the top was this warm Oakland Raiders beanie with that puffball on the top of it (my favorite football team) and then there was a white box at the bottom. I opened the box and in it was this silver ball tree ornament that had this design swirled around the ornament. He had drawn that pattern around and signed it on there to mark that that was his artwork. I almost teared because I know how long it must’ve taken him to draw all of the small details with just a Sharpie, it was so stunning. I then gave him his other two presents, a set of four shot glasses with the University of Oregon logo on them (his favorite college team) and then I gave him this bi-fold wallet that had these tribal-like designs on it (something I knew he’d appreciate as an artist).  And like clockwork after that, we had of course started making out with each other in his car, as well as other things 😛

Now from what I recall, we had gotten in to a little of a falling out a week after this. I was fed up with having to wait for him, while he would tell me he didn’t have time for me but he had time to go out with his friends. What also pissed me off was how he also said he would be hanging around some of his ex-girlfriends (I guess they’re friends with his friends still), but he didn’t want to bring me around. And what also really got me was how he always seemed to only have time for me past 10 pm if he ever did have time for me. I was done, so I literally blocked his number so I couldn’t get any of his texts he would send me.

But after a short period of time, I unblocked him and he eventually came around and texted me and apologized, which I then began to state my case why I was so damn upset and justly so. Since the New Year, we’ve seen each other a few times, going to the movies or just cruising around in his car talking (and other things of course). But also since then, my feelings for him have some what subsided, but are also slowly growing again. But, I’m learning to not talk to him too much and keep myself preoccupied with other things *cough*othermen*cough*…. And doing that has kept the relationship in good terms, though he still has issues with giving me time because he’s mostly busy with his family.

Now I wanted to write more because between the guys I’ve been writing about, I’m really mostly seeing either The Artist or King Kong. But I’m gonna leave the updates about King Kong for my next post because there’s also been A LOT going on with him. But until then…
